Living in the Diamond Age: What does Home mean today?



Ever since the Industrial Revolution, technological advancements have perpetuated exponentially. (Ray Kurzweil) If you put things into perspective, our day-to-day could be perceived as something out of a science fiction novel.  The invention of computers has redefined what it means to be human. 
Time has become a commodity, daily events which may have been commonplace twenty years ago, can largely be categorized as tedium.  The landline has already been replaced by the Cellphone as the primary phone line and high-speed internet is now considered a utility.
     While technology has continually innovated architecture and contruction techniques, how has it changed our preception of the Home?   Innovative products offer ways of updating existing standards, but by-and-large, these products only the appeal to those with expendable income.  In effect, the Diamond age has changed the way we live while our definition of home follows an incongruous path

We live longer and can do more, how can we use tech to redefine our standard for living?

The Primitive Hut -  What is it that ensures a sense of security of home?

Technology has reinforced our ability to innovate, how can the home be reimagined to follow the pace of this Diamond Age?
